Food Avoid or Limit during Summer

During summer, it's best to avoid certain foods that can increase body heat, cause dehydration, or spoil easily due to the hot weather. Here are some foods to limit or avoid:

1. Spicy & Oily Foods:

   - Hot peppers, deep-fried snacks, and heavily spiced dishes can raise body temperature and cause discomfort.

  - Examples: Spicy curries, fried pakoras, samosas, and greasy fast food.

2. High-Protein & Heavy Meats:

  - Red meat (beef, lamb, pork) and processed meats are harder to digest, generating excess heat.

   - Examples: Kebabs, sausages, bacon, and rich meat curries.

3. Excessive Dairy Products:

  - Heavy dairy like full-fat milk, cream, and cheese can cause sluggish digestion and increase body heat.

   - Alternatives: Opt for yogurt, buttermilk, or coconut milk.

4. Caffeinated & Sugary Drinks:

   - Coffee, energy drinks, and sugary sodas can dehydrate you.

   - Alternatives: Coconut water, lemon water, or herbal iced teas.

5. Street Food (Risk of Spoilage):

   - Chutneys, cut fruits, and fried snacks from street vendors may spoil quickly in heat, leading to food poisoning.

   - Be cautious with: Golgappas, bhel puri, and fruit salads from unhygienic stalls.

6. Alcohol:

   - Alcohol dehydrates the body quickly, increasing heat stress.

7. Dry & Salty Snacks:

   - Excessive salt (chips, pickles, salted nuts) can lead to water retention and bloating.

Best Summer Foods to Eat Instead:

✔ Hydrating fruits– Watermelon, muskmelon, cucumber, oranges.

✔ Light meals– Curd rice, salads, sprouts, moong dal.

✔ Cooling drinks – Coconut water, sugarcane juice, mint-infused water.

By avoiding these foods, you can stay cool, hydrated, and healthy in the summer!

Food may contain colours (natural and synthetic), flavours, pharmacologically active substances (such as caffeine, steroids, and salicylates, which chemically affect the body), natural toxicants (naturally occ...

Here few reasons discussed to explain that why you should make a switch from chilled water to normal room temperature water Restricts Digestion Experts claim that chilled water and even cold beverages contract your blood vessels, thereby restricting digestion. It also hinders the natural process of absorbing nutrients during digestion. The body’s focus is diverted from digestion because it tries to manage your blood heat which of the water, which may actually cause water loss and cause you to feel dehydrated. The normal temperature of the body is 37 degree C, and once you consume something of a really coldness , your body compensates by spending energy to manage this temperature. This extra energy that is now used to regulate the temperature would have been originally used in the process of digestion and absorbing nutrients. This is why it is always advisable to have water at room temperature. Sore Throat Another very obvious reason, that even your elders are preventing you from gulpin...
